Take mini programs offline

Taking a mini program offline removes it from a specific target app and environment, without deleting its underlying data in your workspace. Use this functionality if you need to discontinue your service. This guide walks you through the steps to take a mini program offline.

Before you begin

Before taking a mini program offline, meet the following prerequisites:

  • If you have multiple workspaces, switch to the one where the mini program is created.
  • The mini program offline functionality is only available when the mini program has at least one version in the Full Release status.
  • Within the target app and environment, if the mini program has versions that are in any of the following statuses, you must cancel the ongoing release process first:
    • Under Review
    • Pilot Testing
    • Grayscale Release

Procedure

To take a mini program offline, follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit mini program offline request

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Mini Programs to view the mini program list.
  2. Find and click the target mini program from the list to view its details page.
  3. On the details page, click Take Mini Program Offline.
  4. On the popup that appears:
    1. Select Target App & Environment.
    2. Check the following mini program details that appear: Mini Program Version and Mini Program Status. Proceed if the status is Full Release.
    3. Enter Reason for Taking Offline.
    4. Click Submit for Review to submit the request.
  1. Proceed based on whether your offline request requires the super app's approval:

Note: The review process depends on the target environment and the super app's settings. See the following table for details:

Target Environment

Sandbox

Subject to the super app's settings

  • Developement
  • Test

Always not required

(Optional) Step 2: Check request status

You can check the result of your offline request in the following two places:

  • On the My Request page.
  • In your account's email inbox. The result is sent once the super app completes processing your request.

The next step depends on the request result:

  • If the request is approved, proceed to the next step.
  • If the request is rejected, check the rejection reason and address the issues accordingly. Then, resubmit a mini program offline request.

Step 3: Verify success

The mini program is taken offline immediately in the following scenarios:

  • Without review: after you submit the offline request.
  • With review: upon approval from the super app.

To confirm if the mini program is taken offline successfully, you can return to the mini program details page and check if the version status changes to Archived.
