Onboard your business as a merchant
Get started as a merchant on Alipay+ Mini Program Platform. This guide walks you through the onboarding process, enabling you to access workspaces where you can build and manage mini programs for Alipay+ partner apps and Alipay China.
Note: Only business owners or administrators need to complete the initial onboarding. After your merchant workspace is set up, you can invite other team members to join.
Before you begin
Ensure you have the following:
- Authority to register your business (owner or admin access)
- A valid email address for account signup
- Your business certificate and other relevant details
Onboarding process overview
The merchant onboarding process consists of four main steps, as illustrated in the following diagram:
Step-by-step onboarding
Step 1: Create an account
Create a single account for both Alipay and Alipay+ services through Alipay Global Merchant Portal.
- Navigate to the signup page.
Tip: If you are on the portal homepage, click Login, then select Sign up now under the login form.
- Complete the signup form with your details.
- Read and agree to the terms of service.
- Click Confirm.
- You will see a confirmation message and be logged in automatically. Then, you will be directed to the next step: apply for mini program services.
Note: After creating your account, save the login credentials securely. You can log out and return to the portal at any time to resume the process. Your account remains active.
Step 2: Apply for mini program services
Complete the application form to enable mini program capabilities for your account. If you are not directed to the form after logging in, click this form link to access it. The application consists of the following two parts:
Part A: Preliminary business form
- Complete the preliminary form to provide your business overview.
- Click Next.
Part B: Full Know Your Business (KYB) form
Note: For this part, you can save a draft and log in later to continue. You can see the saved draft after login and click To submit to resume your application.
- Complete the full KYB form with your business certificate details. Note that:
- Some fields are pre-filled based on your previous input. If a pre-filled field is incorrect, click Save to save your current edits, then click Edit Legal Form in the left panel to update the preliminary information. The KYB form will refresh with your corrections.
- Additional helpful tips:
- Website/APP Download URL: Enter the URL of your official website or app. If you do not have one, you can enter the Alipay Global Merchant Portal website address for now.
- (Optional) Other Addends: Upload additional images of your company, such as qualifications, awards, or business activities.
- Click Preview to review all information.
- If everything is correct, in Terms and conditions section, read and agree to the agreements.
- Click Submit to send your application.
- You will see a confirmation dialog, showing that your application is under review.
Step 3: Check the application result
The application review usually takes 1-2 business days. You will be notified of the result via:
- A status update in Alipay Global Merchant Portal after you log in.
- An email sent to your registered email address.
If the application is approved, proceed to Step 4.
Step 4: Log in and get started
- Log in to Alipay Global Merchant Portal.
- In the Products section, locate Mini Program.
- Select either of the following buttons to navigate to the workspace for your mini program based on the release target:
- Manage A+: Create and manage mini programs that are released to Alipay+ partner apps.
- Manage CN: Create and manage mini programs that are released to Alipay China.
