Block workspace members

This guide explains how to temporarily revoke a member's access to a workspace by using the block feature. Blocking is a temporary and reversible action designed to immediately revoke a member's access for security or administrative reasons, without permanently removing them or their contributions from the workspace.

Blocking a member does not delete the data or any contributions they have made. All their work remains intact in the workspace.

Blocking vs. Deletion:

  • Blocking is a reversible action intended for temporary access control. After a member is blocked from a workspace, the workspace is still displayed in their workspace hub. You can restore access by unblocking the member.
  • Deleting a member permanently deletes them from the workspace. After a member is deleted, the workspace is no longer displayed in their workspace hub. To restore access, you must send a new invitation.

Prerequisites

  • Only workspace admins can block and unblock members.
  • Only members in the Active state can be blocked. For more information, see Status.

Block a member

The block function immediately prevents a member from accessing the workspace and accessing any of its resources, including mini programs, data, and settings.

You can consider blocking a member in the following situations:

  • Security concerns: You suspect a member's account has been compromised or is showing suspicious activity.
  • Temporary suspension: A member is on leave or their project is paused.
  • Policy violations: A member has violated terms of use or policies.
  • Offboarding process: As an immediate first step when a member is offboarding a project, before proceeding with permanent removal.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Mini Program platform.
  2. After accessing a workspace, click Component 13.png in the lower-left corner to navigate to the Members page.
  3. On the Members page, find the member you want to block in the list. You can search for a member by email. For more information, see Search for members.
